Petroleum ETC has created a novel artificial lift technology termed Liquid Assisted Gas-Lift (LAGL). LAGL is a disruptive technology that addresses the key issues that currently limit wider use of Gas Lift, that of cost, reliability and safety. Experiments conducted in a 2,800ft. deep test well at LSU have proved the concept and demonstrated that LAGL can lower compression by up to 75%. In addition, LAGL simplifies the well completion by eliminating the need for traditional gas-lift unloading valve and multiple side-pocket mandrels. It is believed that in many cases LAGL can be utilize with open-ended tubing, otherwise only a single orifice valve is needed.
